Last September our youth built a ramp for a man with the need for easier access to his home.
Our United Methodist Men's group purchased the materials and two men supplied the tools and the design. They taught the youth workers how to use the tools safely, guided their efforts at sawing and joining the pieces, and encouraged them to stretch their imaginations of what they were capable of doing.
The building phase took about 5 hours with a lunch break included in that span.
Though the final picture does not show them, there were two other young men who helped bringing the total worker count to 9 youth and 4 adults (Lyndie Cotton also helped but had to leave early).
Malinda Cooley provided lunch and drinks for all of the workers.
Additionally, we have many other activities for our children and friends: Pumpkin Sales, Christmas with Santa, and playing Handbells.
