Rev. Braxton Cotton has served as pastor of First, Madisonville, since July 2007.

His last charge was Simpson UMC in Rossville, GA, his first church, where he served for four years.

He and his wife, Lyndie, have three children, two boys and a girl, in a blended family.

Lyndie's son and daughter live in Chattanooga, and Braxton's son lives in the Jacksonville, NC area.

Lyndie works outside the home at Dayton City School where she serves as the School Psychologist and Special Education Supervisor.

Sue Hamilton grew up in the Sweetwater United Methodist Church and worked with the music and youth programs there while in college.

She graduated from Tennessee Wesleyan College with a B.S Degree in Music Education. She has, in the past, served as youth director for the church.

Sue has been the Director of Music at the church since 1975. She presently directs the chancel choir and the children’s handbell choir.

After retiring from Cleveland State Community College in June 2007, Sue added the responsibilities of Christian Program Director to her duties.

Reba Hall grew up in South Florida and moved to Tennessee in 1990 when her husband was injured in a work accident and retired on disability.

She retired at the end of February 2009 from full-time work and came to work as the Administrative Assistant on March 2nd.

Reba & Ted have three children and eight grandchildren. They have one son and family in north Florida, one son and family in Pennsylvania, and a daughter and family in north Florida. They will be taking time off occasionally to visit with them and other members of their family.

Lyssa Maddux is a junior at TN Wesleyan College.

She recently started a First Madisonville at the beginning of January of 2011. She is originally from Chattanooga.

At TN Wesleyan, she studies music and religion, and is active in bible studies, worship groups, music ensembles, and various othe productions for the Fine Arts Department.
